History

In May 2001, a group of engineers returned after completing PhD degrees in the United States of America. They set up EET (education trust) as a not-for-profit public charitable organization for education purposes.

CASE was started on September 12, 2001 at Software Technology Park, Islamabad, in affiliation with the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. The affiliation makes CASE a sub-campus of UET, Taxila, and permitted it to start M.Sc. and PhD degree programs in computer engineering. CASE was inaugurated by the Minister of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Ata Ur Rehman. Dr. Kamal Athar was the director from 2001 until 2003. CASE started with a faculty of 9 PhDs and 3 Masters of Science. Many of them are still working as permanent faculty members.

CASE started a B.Sc. program in 2003 in its school SS-CARE initially in collaboration with Sir Syed Memorial Society (SSMS). The classes started at Sir Syed Esquire situated at 19th Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad. Later on, undergraduate classes commenced under the name of CASE. This program is accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
